For the last week there has been increased activity at my feeders. We have 3 rufous who are very aggressive and 4 or 5 black chinned males who are very hungry. I also have observed 2 or 3 females and yesterday spotted a baby trying to feed and I am not sure his beak was long enough, or he just didn't know how to do it. It was very exciting to watch. Last year we had them until the end of October so am curious to see how long they stay.
