Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/19/2011

Number: 1

Saw several monarchs flitting about in our way station area which is right outside our second grade classroom. Some of the milkweed plants are right outside of our classroom windows. We watched them all day. I knew that they were laying eggs. Yesterday, 08/24/11, I went out to find eggs, but didn't find any - however - I brought in 5 caterpillars! Yippee! Two are about a week old and the other three look to be only 3 or 4 days old. Today on our televised announcements, we showed the bigger ones and my class is in charge of weekly monarch reports for the show!
