I am chair of a Master Gardener gardening project inside a youth detention center in Lancaster, PA. Last year, we had 56 monarch caterpillars in our milkweed garden. This year, we have seen 5 monarch caterpillars. However, there are wasps everywhere and we are thinking that they are predatory wasps who are killing our caterpillars.
