Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/25/2011

Number: 1

I am seeing about 5 Monarchs on any given day flying about the flower garden. Nothing enmasse just yet. I did spend 6 hours on Sunday 8/21/11 hiking around the Blue Mound trail near Luverne, Mn. The national park area is home to the largest bison heard in our state and they are working hard to preserve the true prairie grasslands here. I saw a lot of milkweed growing and nearly every plant had signs of leaf munching. I spotted only a couple dozen monarchs but it was a large space and much for them to feed and I was also moving the entire time. Joyful place to be.
