The Monarch's are typically flying 1'-3' off of the ground with an occasional high flyer (10' or so). They fly in the same general direction with most rising to fly over my house. Some will fly by the side of the house. This is the typical daily pattern. I do see the occasional errant Monarch that appears to be backtracking.
