goldenrod is looking beautiful this week- in full bloom up here. great crop of apples on the trees along the roadsides. picked several buckets of chokecherries last week. highbush cranberries starting to ripen. saw several flocks of swallows on the wires this week. air is full of crickets singing at night. had a young flying squirrel come visiting in the living room tuesday night- he/she came down through the chimney- maybe looking for a winter den already??? it stayed around and checked out the computer, ate some sunflower seeds and then scampered back behind the mantle...cool!!!
