The Monarchs have been very active around here this summer. Can't remember a summer that I've noticed them like this. The ironweed is blazing purple patterns across the meadow and I find them busily nectaring in it every morning. Will go out tonite to see if I can spot any travelers as I suspect they might actually be starting around here, sometimes I miss the first part. We have quite a mix of butterflies butter yellow graceful Tiger Swallowtails, black Spicebush Swallowtails and the small variety that mimics Monarchs.
