Today I gave a presentation and tagging of monarchs at Harrisville State Park. A total of 33 participants attended which included many children. I only had two monarchs from my Monarch Waystation #4357 which is certified by MonarchWatch.org. I let the children look at the larva and chrysali. I then taught about monarch migration, rearing them, and habitat requirements they need. Finally, I let all of the participants feel the strong legs of a monarch on their fingers. I then let two children help me tag and release the two monarchs and everyone cheered!
