This summer has been extremely hot and dry. There are few, if any, wild flowers and even the flowers in yards are limited.
As a result, we have many more hummingbirds at our feeders than normal. The average consumption in our yard is 3.5 quarts per day! Other wildlife species are beginning to show the effects of drought.
