Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/31/2011

Number: 65

Our 4 babies have had 2 additional hummingbirds join them beginning on Aug 28th ( Hurricane Irene was just leaving). On Monday the 29th, with clearer weather again - one of them left- the other remained so we have 5 regular hummers now.

As the effects of Hurricane Irene left the hummers came out to feed. They could fly against the wind of 20-30mph with higher gusts but the feeders were swaying considerably and so they would approach the feeder - hover- and leave. (I left the feeders out to the very last minute and refund them quickly as soon as things subsided at all)
