I stopped at the Lynde Conservation area on the shore of Lake Ontario in Whitby this afternoon. There are acres of wildflowers, mostly Goldenrod, at this site where a year ago I tagged 17 Monarchs on the 29th of August. Today on a warm sunny afternoon, there was not a single Monarch in sight.
