Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/31/2011

Number: 1

I only ever saw about a half dozen in my yard this Summer and collected maybe 20 eggs. Last year I collected over 200 here. In a milkweed patch about six miles from me I have collected close to 100 cats in the past couple of weeks. Most of them will be forming their chrysalis in the next few days. I checked the patch on Saturday and on Monday and found nothing. I had an egg hatch on Sunday and know that will be my last of the season. I never even ordered tags this year, because I didn't figure I would have anything to tag. As it is, I guess I could tag around 100, if I had tags.
