Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/02/2011

Number: 3

It seems so quiet! Several hummingbirds are still here, but the resident males are gone, gone, gone. Until Monday morning (8/29/11) we'd hear the buzzing of their wings from the minute we woke up in the morning. The remaining females and juveniles are quietly coming and going from the feeder, but it's the sound of the missing males that we notice the most. The males seemed to leave just as soon as "Irene" cleared out late Sunday night. Maybe they flew away into the starry sky.
