Although I regularly see Monarch butterflies from Spring through summer, this day (September 3, 2011) I saw many more than usual all over the garden. They were fluttering about and landing on flowers and on the driveway (not paved). I cannot say exactly how many, because I had to work, and could not stay to watch them long. When I had to leave, I made them fly to make sure there were none in front of the car.
