The Virginia Living Museum has a live butterfly exhibit this summer which released female monarchs sporatically [along with other species] from Memorial Day Saturday until Labor Day. Released monarchs laid eggs on the milkweeds on Museum grounds & we allowed the caterpillars to continue the life cycle without interference. The exhibit probably increased the number of monarchs sighted in the museum area artificially. We just wanted you folks to know that.
