Driving north through Huntsville when a large Monarch flew right past the car on the right side, just avoiding becoming a horrible splat on the windshield. It seemed to be flying southeast. We were just glad we didn't hit it since we had released 3 females and a male back in May and have been waiting for a return of at least one descendant at our home in Conroe where we have two large milkweed plants waiting. My wife had just spotted a large female (already reported) earlier in the week (Conroe, 08/22/11), checking out the milkweed plants!
