observed 3 monarchs on 09/02/11. all feeding on butterfly bush and zinnias. observed one fly in southerly direction. also two larvae on milkweed at side of garage. one almost 2 inches long and one about 1 inch. of the 10 or 12 caterpillars i have seen this year i have located only one chrysalis which is on the siding of garage. it is about 12 days old so maybe any day i will have butterfy emerge.
