Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/03/2011

Number: 1

Monarchs usually arrive in Young in July, but none were spotted in July or late August. But Saturday, 9/3/11, Ken Furtado sent the following observation: "There are monarchs all over the place, about equal numbers of male and female, fresh and worn. They seem to be favoring the pond but they're also on the butterfly bush and in the garden, where there are flowers blooming. No queens, but also lots of Arizona Sisters, Two-tailed Swallowtails, Black swallowtails and Pipevines."
