Yesterday Joyce McDonald reported to the Rio Bravo Nature Center (in Eagle Pass, TX) that she had seen her first monarch of the season (9-5-11) on their farm 8 miles NE of Abilene, TX., It arrived on the wings of a blue norther and was looking for nectar sources along Deadman Creek, which runs through the farm.
