We went to a little hometown park that I knew to have some open areas with wildflowers for the express purpose of finding butterflies. My husband spotted the monarch first, alighting on a dogwood leaf. Upon doubling back about five minutes later, we again spied the same monarch, this time nectaring some goldenrod nearby. Happily, I got a nice photo which I will send along to include.
