Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/06/2011

Number: 11

Rick Cavasin did an extensive survey of butterflies today at Point Pelee National Park and posted this to the Google Group Ontario Butterflies. Not a great many monarchs noted in the list, Monarch - 5
, but the migration is later than last year and I recall seeing the daily counts in September last year, and recall that between days when monarchs were clustering and very abundant, there were days when few or no monarchs were seen. I wonder how the monarchs faring presently across the border in nearby Michigan or Ohio?

The official count of monarchs for Point Pelee today was posted as being “11” at: www.twitter.com/PointPeleeNP
