Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/08/2011

Number: 4

Lots of hummer activity, some are transients I think because they tend to feed more from flowers and seem timid about the feeders. I've seen as many as four hummers flying around at once. Some of the ones using feeders are long and sleek and some have pot bellies. I think the pot bellied ones might be our resident females and the long and sleek ones their offspring. It's getting colder here so I'm filling feeders with nectar that's room temperature.
