Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/09/2011

Number: 15

We still have many ruby-throated hummingbirds. Many of them are young males with just a few red feathers showing on their throats. My son saw one and thought it was bleeding, but it was just red feathers. They aren't as frantic as they were when Hurricane Irene was going up the coast. They still follow me while I'm picking the garden. They eat the small insects that fly up out of the leaves including mosquitoes.
