Haven't seen any hummers for days, the usual Labor Day drop off of visitors.

Then suddenly a male at the feeder. Very confused as to where/how to drink. Visited eaach of the 6 openings, rotating clockwise. Each drink was a second or 2, then he was gone. also very confused as to the milk jug cap above the feeder, which we use to keep ants off. The hummer tried to drink, land, sit on it without luck.

Our last bergamont flowers are done. The butterfly bush, rose of sharon, 4 o'clocks, turtleheads, ironweed, joe pye & cardinal flowers (did I forget anything?) are still available for anyone coming thru. I'll keep the feeder going til end of Oct.
