Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/09/2011

Number: 1

After my walk where I saw two monarch butterflies-- while walking back to our yard, I was happy to see/hear two hummingbirds in the air near our pine trees. Hurricane Irene really assaulted us with heavy winds and downed trees in our area, so I was very worried for the hummingbirds out there. After the hurricane , our hummingbird feeders were eerily quiet. Yesterday I was thrilled to hear one of them chasing away another hummingbird, and saw them zooming about near the trees. Our hummingbird feeders are being emptied out again with this renewed activity. Must be some stragglers passing through! May God be with them!
