Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/28/2011

Number: 2

Awaiting the hurricane/tropical storm and worried about the birds I pulled the feeder for fear of damage overnight. No severe winds or rains here, but in morning the larger hummer was flying the outside perimeter of her large tree as if searching and asking for help. She came right up to the large den windows and hovered looking in each time. Finally, we saw the smaller one, after 1/2 hour, and then the searcher stopped coming to us, and both began feeding at the filled, rehung feeder. I believe they had been separated and the larger one may have been a parent hummingbird.
