Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)

Date: 09/11/2011

Number: 20

Observed black chinned hummingbirds last evening from 5 to 7. No way to count the actual numbers, but there would be 20 in view at 5 feeders, darting around. About 1/4 males to 3/4 females. We've installed a mister hose around the corner (humidity still down in the teens, and the temperature only went to 100 during the day, but native nectar sources are almost non-existant, so the birds are dependent on the 15 feeders located around the house at the Cunningham Ranch. They use the front feeders in the morning on the north east and those still in the sun on the south in the evenings.
