Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/12/2011

Number: 1

Today, I saw two widely separated Monarchs. These are the first of the fall for me....No need to bother to suggest they are local or from the coast or any other such truck. ..There has not seen a drop of rain here since spring and there darn sure ain't any milkweed anywhere...These are 100% migrants, 100% Monarch.vs. mimics or near mimics....It was a treat to actually see butterflies period...It has been a long time since I have seen anything in this scorched earch other than the occasional tattered Pipevine and once a Gulf Frit....Just nothing blooming at all and nothing green except trees and the 5 bucks in my wallet... Very cool.
