Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)

Date: 09/13/2011

Number: 4

My Ragdoll cat brought in a male hummer that was caught up in a web in one of the trees and lay it down on the carpet in the living room. We took the webbing out of his wing and it was also caught at the tip of his beak, holding his head at a severe angle. It was so thick, it felt more like plastic webbing than a spider web. We put him in a small room with the feeder inside a soft lined box to try to recover. We left him alone, checking him periodically for about 2 and a half hours. Next time I checked, he was flying around in the little room. I caught him and took him back outside near his feeder, where he remained in my hand for a few moments before flying away...strong and free. What a day for us! My little Ragdoll saved his life. He never went over to him again, after he laid him down on the carpet for us to find. My little hero.
