Number: 269

while swimming at North Beach provincial park Prince Edward County for 1 hour counting the butterflies heading west over the water presumably heading further west along the north shore of Lake Ontario. FAR LESS THAN YESTERDAY WHEN WE COUNTED 269.WE THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE INCREASED WIND COMING FROM THE WEST.THERE ARE STILL A BUNCH INLAND OUT OF THE WIND FLUTTERING AROUND ON THE CLOVER AND UP IN THE TREES .THANKS MARTY HAYWARD 613 392 6866

While swimming at North Beach provincial park Prince Edward County for 1 hour counting the 269 butterflies heading west over the water presumably heading further west along the north shore of Lake Ontario.THE HIGHEST NUMBER WE HAVE COUNTED SO FAR.

Editor's note: Due to the high number of monarchs on the 10th and the few monarchs noted in the trees the following morning, we are assuming a roost at this location.
