Sighted a male Monarch nectaring in the field in front of our house. Was nectaring on the purple thistles. Our milkweed has gone to seed and pods are now splitting open. Was able to get very close - his wings were worn, no tags - he spent several minutes flying around the field, then flew off in a westwardly direction.
