We raised a monarch from a caterpillar to a full grown adult monarch butterfly. First we put it in a jar and put milkweed in it and in 2-3 days it turned into a chrysalis. It stay in the chrysalis for 2 weeks. It just came out today (Sept. 15, 2011) and we let it out in our neighbours garden. While we were doing our science program, we checked to see if it was still there and it was.

We are curious about what they eat when they are flying to Mexico. Could you please let us know.
