Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/15/2011

Number: 12

With much cooler night time temperatures the last couple of days, humingbird activity at my 2 feeders has been the heaviest it's been in the last 10 years. Mornings they hit on the blooming rose-of-sharons and in the evenings the feeders. 12 hummers seen all at one time taking turns feeding and then hovering waiting for another turn at the feeder. All observed have been females, it's been over a week now since I seen a male.
