Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)

Date: 09/15/2011

Number: 1

I have a pair of black-chinned hummingbirds that frequent my feeder. I have been able to watch them through field glasses for quite some time and I have no doubt about the type. Also, one can be aggressive and I can hear it coming from the buzzing wings. They (mostly the female) love to sit on the branches of the dead tree just above the feeder as if surveying surroundings. They come at anytime of the day, especially in the morning and late afternoon. I have had them here throughout August and September. My neighbor has had them all summer but I just put up a new feeder, so they may have been here all summer in our 95-103 degree heat!
