Monitoring the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area this morning when a male monarch flew in off the Salt River at 7:40 a.m. and began nectaring on Desert Milkweed, Aslcepias subulata, in bloom along the south side of the monarch waystation. First sighting of the Fall season!
