To my delight, a hummingbird showed up at our feeder today!
I think all the heavy rains left us without our hummingbirds earlier than last year. This one was perhaps a passing migrant? It only stayed to hover around the sugar-water, and buzzed off. I think it was a juvenile - fine glossy plumage and looking like a masked bandit with its dark facial markings.
