I have had an amazing year in regards to hummingbirds! I have 7 feeders up and change the sugar water daily. I just counted 16 hummers this morning(young and females are left). Males left approximately 7 days ago. I've had as many as 25 plus over the summer daily. Some days filling the feeders twice a day and using 3/4th of a gallon of sugar water daily. They are so tame that they come down daily and sit on my fingers as they drink the nectar from the feeder. I have scratched their bellies as they are drinking. Hope they haven't become too tame! They are certainly fat and I hope they are healthy enough for their long journey south. I have a picture of one sitting on my finger but don't know how to send it to this website.
