Seeing far fewer monarchs now. Saw only three total today- all at separate times. Two were in a straight flight pattern to the southeast from my farm. One brilliant, perfect monarch was visiting several of my nectar plants.
Interestingly, I still have three large caterpillars on my some of my milkweed.
Its been an odd weather week- hot- 95 degrees on Monday/Tuesday with a rapid drop in temp to Weds which saw a high of only 59! High winds from the north with some intense gusts- one actually blew out one of my barn windows-and rain. I wonder how the monarchs managed the weather.
