I have several beds of milkweed and red sage around my yard, and their are anywhere between 3 to 5 monarchs circling, feeding, and laying eggs at any given time during the day. This has been an almost daily occurance for the past 2 weeks. Last weekend 2 of the butterflies I observed had distinctive notches in their wings, so it was easy to tell them apart from others. This weekend I see no notches in the wings of any monarchs. Caterpillars are all over the milkweed, and I have spotted 3 that have gone into the chrysalis stage.
