Two Rufous Hummingbirds have been happily seen and feeding on one of our two feeders all summer - including 2 seen today when it was about 60 degrees F. During hurricane Irene - afew weeks ago - they took shelter much of the day in hanging baskets on a partially sheltered porch. The plants were close to their feeder. After the summer, they are very relaxed feeding and hanging around even when my wife and I are near them. I am wondering if I should keep feeding them until they leave? Should they be heading south pretty soon. Will they get stuck here when it is too cold?
