Female hummingbird darting among and feeding on many various colored impatiens planted on deck. We spotted her mid-morning from inside the house. We watched her for several minutes. She seemed almost frantic at times racing from plant to plant, as though she was trying to collect as much nectar as possible before starting her journey south. We had never seen a hummer act like that.
