Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/21/2011

Number: 17

The day was clear and cool with a strong wind from the west northwest at 15 to 25 miles an hour at Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge. Monarchs still are passing through the refuge on the way south. Today they were fighting the strong wind while nectaring on the sawtooth sunflowers. In one hour, 17 monarchs were noted.
