Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 09/22/2011

Number: 5

I have had five Monarch's come forth from their chrysalis this week. Today was absolutely wonderful - the last one. I tried to launch it yesterday but it was cool and rainy. She perched on my finger for l/2 hour and wouldn't take off so I put her back into the mesh cage. Today at 9:30 I let her go. It was sunny and 75 degrees. I had bonded with her, she was so sweet. At 10:30 I was coming down the steps and onto the landing and a honeycomb blind is over the window. I saw an image. I pulled back the blind and there she was, seeming to say "Thank you and goodbye." I have cried over that one. So beautiful and sweet. I will never forget that special Monarch.
