Went out to put a couple potted plants on the deck and heard that familiar buzz of a Hummer and carefully raised up to see a very tattered female, perched & drinking from my feeder. Then she checked out a Dahlia and some Pink Cone flowers. She came back to the feeder for 'seconds' & then she was gone. I feel so sad for stragglers coming from further northern points making their way south. She appeared quite tired. I think they somehow acknowledge they should hurry now. She had a good appetite tho. So I'm glad I could be of service. Poor weary soul.
