Signs of Fall

Date: 09/23/2011

Number: 334

Activity on the Gulf Frit highway (through my yard) picked up to peak migration numbers today. I saw 334 Gulf Frit's in 5-10 minutes intervals through out the day for a total of 1hr 55min of observation time. The peak time was and is typically from 10am-2:00 pm. Today many came in 2's, 3's and 4's however, I did see one group of 6 traveling in close proximity. One stopped briefly on the grass perhaps for a drink from the dew. The Gulf Frit numbers have been low all week until today. Yesterday it rained all day and only 1 Gulf Frit was sighted.
