Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/24/2011

Number: 70

Kept checking the skies(cloudy and clear during the day) and monarchs were moving in small groups of 2 to 5 at a time, then a break and then a few more. 10 came into the yard, nectared and took off before I caught them, but I was able to tag 6 wild and 1 reared. Saw kettles of Broad-winged hawks and my first Bald Eagle for the year in the yard...also lots of swarms of dragonflies.
