Number of hummingbirds sighted declined on Tuesday, Sept 20, from over 100 on Monday to a low of about 30-40 on Friday. Consumption of sugar water, primarily in 5 large 1 qt. feeders, declined from 2 and 1/4 gallons on Monday to only about 1/2 gallon on Friday. However, activity may have picked up this evening, Saturday, Sept 24. We will have to see how things go tomorrow to confirm if we are getting another "wave" down here about 15 miles north of Matagorda Bay.
