Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/24/2011

Number: 2

We took our dogs down to Medina River to cool off and we noted the Milkweed blooming along the banks. Sure enough after a hour I saw the brilliant orange and black Monarch pattern open and close fluttering over each white flower for about 15 minutes, then fluttered away down river. 30 minutes later another Monarch was on the other bank circling the area then alight on the Milkweed flowers.
Good to see Milkweed is growing along the river banks, the drought has left most fields and area with no growth.
