In an area close to my house, there is a field of goldenrods and asters. This area is surrounded by pines and a small pond. I was there to release the latest of 15 butterflies that I have raised from caterpillars. These caterpillars I found on milkweed near my house. I have released about 5 of these 15 butterflies in close proximity to this area. The Monarchs were obviously nectaring up and there were no signs of migratory flight.
