Tagged 12 monarchs today - they were nectaring and flying west - but having a hard time since the wind was coming from the west.

I'm still waiting for the main body to push through. It looks like the eastern half of the country still has a large mass waiting to come down.
We're having a Monarch party on Oct. 1st and hope they show up in time.
I've already delayed it a week. We've had as many as 100 in an hour in the past, compared to the dozen or so that showed up today. It's interesting that the monarchs I did see were flying in a westerly direction and willing to fight a very stiff wind.
